Zixu Liu, Ph.D.

Dr. Zixu Liu

Assistant Professor
School of Medicine, School of Life Sciences, Westlake University

Biography

Dr. Liu began his doctoral dissertation in Dr. Jian-Min Zhou’s lab at the National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing, where he studied the mechanisms in which plant pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) regulate innate immunity. After earning his Ph.D. in biology from Nanjing University in 2013, Dr. Liu did his postdoctoral training at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas from 2013 to 2020. There, he became interested in exploring the molecular mechanisms for mammalian innate immune responses to pathogen infections, including those caused by bacteria and viruses. He joined the faculty of Westlake University in November 2020.
